I don’t even know how I came across this mixtape.  I never kept up with Dirty Money nor did I listen to their album. I felt like Diddy was cheating these girls out of their own solo careers and I wasn’t partaking in that.

Anywho, the Intro comes on and sets the tone immediately..To love someone through the pain they inflicted on you is one of the hardest muthafuckin things to do me..but i found a gift within in me to understand that when people are not used to something, they’re afraid of it and naturally you hate something before you love it and i’m cool with that…  She has a lot of quotables on this mixtape.  Next is Ladder and it RIDES.  Hooks goes something like “i’m not easy to learn but i’m easy to love so stop playing muthafuckin games with my heart” with dope vocal and perfect production.   Actually, the production throughout this mixtape is pretty much perfect.  Feeling Good comes on next and it sounds like one of those techno&B (which is so played out to me) songs but the beat drops and we’re back in the Urban market.  Vocals are pretty dope.  S On My Chest shows Kalenna’s more vulnerable side.  The hard exterior is turned down.  This is the slowest song on COD but it works. Put It In My Bag is my least favorite.  It’s still a hot song.  Lyrically, it’s not my taste.  That “I Got Money and Guns” music. With that being said, 6000 Sistas is exactly one of those songs but it’s a different approach…oh and it’s a strip club song.  One of my favs. Pain & Alcohol is exactly what it sounds like.  Her Interludes are definitely a plus.  Not annoying/pointless skits.  They’re actually transitions which is what interludes should be.

Anyway, I’m not about to go through this track by track but shawty has a DOPEEEEEEE mixtape.  Definitely surprised.  It’s grungy, up-beat, profanity riddled, R&B that is GENDER NEUTRAL!  It’s tomboy R&B.  The production is perfection.  DJ Kash did a great job as well.  He wasn’t an annoying DJ and honestly, how often do we get mixtapes WITHOUT annoying DJs screaming all over the songs?  She sings enough so that you know she has vocals but not too much hoopla to where she’s going overboard.  I’ll be listening to this for awhile. and shout out to whoever mixed this for her too!
